Hey, I made an electroluminescent wire mask that glows when the wearer talks. It has a small electret mic hidden in the nose and uses the lilypad arduino.

so cool! i like it. What did you use to let the mic and wire work together?
Hi Michou. The mic is connected to the analog input of the lilypad, the lilypad can measure the amplitude of the mic. The lilypad modulates the EL wire's AC circuit via a solid state relay. It's the same way that you dim an LED, with pulse width modulation. http://www.arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/PWM
it's amazing. thanks for sharing!
Great project...what kind of mic did you use? I cannot figure out how to get a reading from the electret mics I've been using. Any tutorial references would be appreciated!
: ) nice picture the lqst one.. what is the material underneath the el wires? looks fun!
It's retro reflective tape.
