Schematics: Expanded and functional drawings

The project 'Schematics' is conformed by a series of textile art pieces which have a technological connotation. Alluding to the expanded methods, this is a proposal that correlates embroidery with the symbolic representation of technical design drawings of electronic circuits. In this drawings, or maps, symbols are used referring to specific components and the connections between them to facilitate the construction of the circuit. Muñoz not only raises the aesthetic and symbolic representation of these schemes, but also she focuses in the meaning of the process of interconnecting different electrical pieces through an electrical flow, and how it becomes functional. The drawing, made out of embroidery, exercises functionality and public interaction through the different components attached to it and the conductive thread used to make the connections between theme.
