Designed by Steven Tai and John Nussey, the Pen Nib dress is a garment with animated "scales" comprising 795 pen nibs, mounted on tiny motors. The effect of the animated pen nibs is remarkable; the garment flickers, twitches and glistens like a second "protective" skin.

i really like this piece - i mean, on one hand, it's a lot of hardware + a big stack of batteries, but what impressive execution! both the pen-nib matrix and the beautifully organised wires inside show hours of effort for a beautiful result. and a lovely combination of old and new materials.
