Hip Hop Artist Embraces Wearable Tech

Wearable Technology EL WIre

The music industry is quickly embracing wearable technology to spice up their stage performances and now, with Genesis Be’s new music video “I Don’t Discriminate,” their music videos. (The video will be out in the fall).

Andrea Wong, an emerging Art Director from New York, used EL (electroluminescent wire) to illuminate costumes for the music video to give it a futuristic look.

It's great to see emerging artists embracing the potentials of wearable technology. I'm looking forward to seeing more complex wearables that have the potential of interacting with other performers and/or the audience.

I completely agree- the entertainment industry is the best new market to experiment with emerging technologies to give performers the 'wow' factor. I'm about to start up a new venture 'MagicBox London' which focuses on smart textiles for the entertainment industry!
