Although strictly non-technical I think the work of Stéphanie Baechler can be a source of inspiration to anyone searching for a balance between textiles and technology.

Poetry of Hardware is a collection of textile designs that are critical of the importance that digital devices have in our every day lives. It seems to Stéphanie that technology is getting closer and closer to us physically. While on holiday in South-America she was irritated with the amount of devices she was carrying with her: a phone, computer, camera, all of which have their own cables, connectors and so forth. It all seemed to be a load of junk. She decided to get under the hood of these devices and reuse their components to create these stunning designs.

A skirt with a cable print.
