I was really lucky recently to work with some brilliant textile specialists to create these forms looking at aesthetic approaches to embedding stretch sensing.

Aeolia by Sarah Kettley in collaboration with Tina Downes (embroidery), Martha Glazzard (knit), Nigel Marshall (weave) and Karen Harrigan (fit).
Playing with the Merlin carbon rubber stretch sensor in various textile structures. With support from New Media Scotland, the Drapers Trust and Nottingham Trent University. We want to explore this more with movement specialists now.

oops, sorry for the delay replying - only the centre piece is knitted, the black garment is embroidered, and the grey is woven. Each has incoporated channels to carry the stretch sensor by Merlin Robotics (UK). For more details on how the project advanced via the construction of our own knit stretch sensors, please have a look at my website at www.sarahkettleydesign.co.uk.

Thanks Sarah! These knits are beautiful. Are these the stretch sensors you incorporated into the garment?
