Digital technologies have dramatically effected the way patterns for textiles are designed and developed. Overlays of gradients and colors, whorls of patterns never possible before are becoming common place as designers embrace digital pattern making and its palate of readymade effects. 

Romanian fashion designer Alina Ene combines the analog with the digital to create 3D printed garments that glow under ultra-violet light. Using long exposure photography techniques, Ene fashions sculpted garments in vivid and abstract photographic prints. She collaborated with Romanian Photographer Dan-Andrei Paraschiv to bring the fabric to life.

Her garments truly come to life at night where under UV light on the dance floor the patterns dramatically begin to glow. The glowing ruffles are my personal favorite. A few garments in her collection also incorporate fiber optic lighting.
