If you're in the Netherlands be sure not to miss the exhibition
Pretty Smart Textiles, opening the 27th of May in the Nutshuis in the Hague. The exhibition brings together for the first time e-textiles made by young artists and designers in the Netherlands.
EXHIBITION OPENING
THURSDAY
27 MAY
19:00-24:00
The opening is going to be a real exciting evening, starting off with a lecture by Piem Wirtz from V2_ at 19:00. In this lecture Piem Wirtz will sketch the breadth of the field of electronic textiles and will raise a number of critical questions. Hopefully we'll have a nice discussion on use and uselessness, and the future of wearables.

At 20.00 Fashioning Technology's own Syuzi Pakhchyan will officially open the exhibition with TeleScissors, a new installation by artist Joachim Rotteveel. These networked scissors will give Syuzi a physical presence in the exhibition where she will cut the official ribbon using her pair of scissors in Los Angeles. The evening will also include a performance of Hysterical Bubble, a new socio-critical work by Anja Hertenberger. A new film on wearables by experimental video artist Farah Rahman will be shown in the bank safe-turned-theatre and music will played by the fabulous dj Wappie Kong.
I will cover some of the works you haven't seen yet on this blog in the coming days, but if you can't wait,
